I NEED a minimum of 10 people in about 30 days to sign on to buy her and I don't know if DoA will let me post the custom manufacturing forum because I don't know if she'll be on topic or whatever! I'm also worried about a bunch of a-holes pming me with accusations of "You ripped her off from Dust of Dolls/Enaibi/Doll Artist I Don't Know...

I have also been thinking of joining Material Celeste, the French forum. They have a lot more on topic dolls and the Google Chrome auto-translates. I can post with Babel Fish translations as long as I don't use contractions. But I don't know if my doll would be well received there considering that it is the home of Enaibi/Lillycat/D.D

Well, I just updated the credit card info on Shopping Mall Japan, which I haven't used in like 4 years! And authorized an appalling amount on the off chance that I can one day afford big Lorina coming out for the uber exclusive Huis ten Bosch (can't spell it...)- insert fist shaking at Volks.

I'm also thinking I might thin the herd a little in order to afford a few other things, like Lorina, and Puns, and just in case Soom ever releases anything I want ever again... OR maybe I can get those doll bodies I need- or just something...

The first to go will be Nyx (MSDolls Devil Drayton), Cocoa (Souldoll Aku), and Jam (Dollfactory Nara). Sadly none of them are real high ticket items. Nyx was a very reasonable $340 and I spent $20 on eye opening (?). Aku is $180, and Jam is about $80, I traded for him so I don't have an exact amount. They are all in excellent condition.

As soon as I bother to strip Sard's hooves he may go back up as well. I'm kinda waiting for that full set in China to go. Then maybe for 5 min. I'll be the only bloody Sard on the market again. I May list a straight trade or too. I would maybe trade for a fullset Williams but I don't know. A full set Lorina, or Una+money. I dunno.

Anyway, Sooms new tinies are cute but I am not thrilled with anything they've done this year except for the two dolls I've bought. OK Nephelin did break my heart a little... but I can't afford big dolls and I don't like realistic sculpts in the least, so while I like to look at her I have no real desire to add her to the pile.

ANYWAY! Anyone interested in the dolls I listed? Aku, Drayton, or Nara?

So I've been working on my Soom Yrie who has been here for... 8 months ish- in her box... But I got her face-up done and I'm ordering her a pair of eyes and next, when I have money again- a wig! I have my eye on a cute blue one over at Kon'D, a sort oh hime cut.

I have her wings blushed and I'm lacquering them now. THEN all I have left is the bird feet.

I'm disappointed that Junky Spot isn't carrying MSC anymore! And it's old out at Sprue Brothers, which is my go to source. Lately I blushed and or face-upped my Scylla (Glot), Ahriman (Bygg), Joy (Yrie) and the hooves for Charybdis (Syen). All of which has eaten a can and a half! So I have two cans left! But I like to have a cushion. There is a GO on DoA which I may join that orders large quantities from Japan.

ANYWAY Pictures!! Squee! What I'm really proud of is that I managed to push a smile! The Yrie is a frowny little sculpt and I had ome worries I would need to trade heads if I ended up with a miserable looking bluebird. But I did it! On tiny ass head!!!!! Oh, and I'm ordering blue eyelashes from Volks too :)

I don't know if I wrote yeterday or not- presumably I did. I think I worked on my MG horror. Which is sort of an odd duck. By the time I'm done with it it may be waaaaay to much middle grade. BUT today I wrote some more on Tx3! Yay!

I'm at 353 pages- handwritten which is just about 50 or so pages from where I THINK 50,000-60,000 words are. Or will be. Or whatever. Anyway it all boils down to I have about hit my word limit but the book is still going. I don't know where it will end but I hope it ends soon! Gahhh! Why don't I know what I'm doing??

I checked Chocolat out of the library. The book has a lot more magic than the movie- like full frontal discussions of 'my mom was a witch'. But it isn't total balls out fantasy. But I'm still pleasantly surprised.

I also checked out a MG fantasy called The Magic Thief and it one of those super well written books that just makes me want to hang myself in the closet because I feel shitty ass writer after reading the first three chapters. In no way shape or form am I this clever, or good with words.

I'm convinced this is why I haven't been reading lately. All I want to do is play my Nintendo DS. And you know why? Video games don't make me feel stupid. At least not the ones I play.

Doll Awesomeness: The Soom lottery! I am SOOOOOOO entering for Afi! It's as good a chance one as I've had lately. I also found a swap partner to get my Winnie Dee Ai hooves for my Syen. I traded them today. Yay! Now I have to paint them! Arg. I did buy the pastels I need for my Yrie which is still boxed! She's been here almost a year too. Arg again.

Oh! And more Soom! Holy crap I will never done with them! NO I'm not into the little centaurs- they are cute but not an OMG WTF FLAIL! for me like they are for some people *coughwinterelf* (p.s.-if you love them buy one! You deserve it!) But here are a few of them anyway. The armour was made by Abi and Mike http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=6217513 They would probably be open to taking more doll armor commissions.

I did the face-up myself. The white base I did with crushed white Rembrandt pastels and almost an entire can of MSC. It's layer upon layer of pastel, each one sealed before the next layer was out on. It's horrifically fragile! If I had the money I'd get someone with an airbrush to re-do it for me. The wig is from 4D and its really nice but has been shedding like crazy!! It was not cheap either! A big wad of hair fell out this morning after I was done taking pics... The eyes are Volks vermillion with white line, and Annette has a whole horror story for that too! I'm SOOOO sorry!!

The body is an oldskin Volks boy body that is kinda... well... crap. I totally over paid for it but it was my fault. The girl selling it had a price on it or OBO and like a dumdass I just paid the price for it. Anyway, I'll never get back what I spent on him so I'm stuck with him. The body is yellowed, which is why I did the white face-up on Saint, the seams were badly removed, he has stains and light scratches all over. I need to get some Bon Ami and give him a real scrub down. Also the Tony head's neck hole is a little big fro the oldskin neck and his head is real floppy. I may suede the neck later on.

Does anyone else want them? They consist mostly of blurry photos of Patton Oswalt LOL! Not really, but there's a few head scratchers in there.

Other than that not much is going on. Work continues. Mostly for Brett. Synopsis of the secret project is almost complete! Never thought I'd get there.

My mom is having her gallbladder removed. Apparently it doesn't really do anything except occasionally malfunction and require removal.

Sard is almost 100% paid off! I cancelled the body brushing on him after seeing photos of the Beryl brushing problems. I can do a little something with pastels.

I NEED another can of MSC though! OMG! Saint- the Volks Tony head is 90% complete! I'm debating a few painted details but then he's done! Now I just need his body back :) His face-up, layers of white pastel to look like make-up, took almost the entire can of MSC to finish. I need to get someone with an airbrush to do Saint 2.0 when this face-up chips.... Alexie is also headless in anticipation of his 5th? re-do!! OMG! Yes, I'm doing it myself...again. Barring pro-bono work from SDink I really can't afford anyone good, and none of these people are my special friends since I don't live near anyone and can't go to doll meets. So unless Lachlana takes charity cases, it's me or nothing.

I have pics of my dolls from a couple weeks ago. I spammed the DoA boards (and actually got comments) but haven't put them on LJ yet. The clothes were part of a trade I did for the Yori head I sold a while ago.

So, pics in a minute- yes I'm a horrible tease. Othere writers actually talk about writing on their blogs... I think. At least they have projects to announce. Gah! This has just turned into a doll blog. I'm sorry! I can curse CBS though! CBS- you rotten bastards! 'Threshold' was THE BEST series EVER!! I hate you to death! I just finished watching the extras on the last disc of 'Threshold" and the producers talked about some of the plans they had. OMG! It was going to be so good and so amazing! I'm sorry I watched it- just knowing all the coolness that will NEVER come to pass is completely pissing me off!

Okay, back to dolls. I will have mercy and put many of them under a cut. I finally took some pictures of Kurumi that are actually worthy of her so I'm pretty pleased. Luna always looks awesome! I can't take a bad picture of her, but somehow Kurumi defeats me more often than not.

As usual I took about 50 pictures or so. Kurumi has no shoes on because the only pair of shoes she has won't fit over the thick pink striped socks. The hood has bunny ears too! The pics or on my photobucket but good luck finding them... I'm not well organized...

I have more pictures too! I put prple eyes in Nutmeg and took Nutmeg, Souxsie, and Bon Bon out for a shoot. I seem to have misplaced the chord to connect my camera to the computer though so those will have to wait. Elfdoll eyeputty is digusting! So is Latidoll. I though Lati eyeputty was the worst until I put new eyes in Nutmeg! Although all I've been using is translucent Fimo. (it's not transparent until baked though). But after seeing pics of Sculpy melting the resin in a doll head I kinda freaked out! Everyone is okay though. Apparently Fimo is alright. Though I can't vouch for colored Fimo. Still- someone told me to use silicon earplug stuff and that you can get it at the drugstore. I have yet to test this however.

Why oh why can't I get mine to look this?? Okay, I know the answer to this. #1- I don't have an airbrush nor would it neccesarily help if I did #2-I'd like to blame the fact that I need to buy a set of Volks face-up brushes, but it's probably my lack of skill. However I'd like to point out the fact that I managed to paint Scarlet and Lacrima decently, and I've always been proud of how Emilio turned out. Maybe I should blame the Heath sculpt for being difficult. Or Volks for making his default face-up so damn lazy!

For the record this is Alexei's third face-up by me, and technically his fourth. I think he's also starting to stain a little which is odd because I'm a little heavy handed with the MSC. But last time I re-face-uped him it looked a little grey around his eyes. I will probably have a go at redoing him again soon. I'd like to get Saint done first in case I run out of MSC abd have to buy another can.

I always wanted a Morbidollz face-up on him to be honest but she's booked, and expensive and I'm not even sure she takes commissions anymore... So, it's back to me again.

The worst part is painting the lips. This time around I tried to emphasize the slight smile that the Heath mold has. I wanted a wicked looking smile. My hands aren't steady enough either, They naver have been, which is funny since supposedly I'm an artist.
