I got this book meme from soraryuu and I love to talk books.

1. One book that changed your life.
What We Talk About When We Talk About Love by Raymond Carver completely changed how I wrote and had a huge impact on my views of fiction.


2. One book that you've read more than once.
Aria of the Sea by Dia Calhoun. I've read it four or five times at least. I borrowed it from the library and loved it so much I bought a copy. I even named my first doll after the author.



3. One book you'd want on a desert island.
I would want to be trapped on a deserted island with a book about how to survive in the wilderness... Seriously, nothing else would actually be helpful.



4. One book that made you laugh.
Terry Pratchett has made me laugh out loud.



5. One book that made you cry.
Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto, an astounding and touching book about death, loss, grieving and recovery.



6. One book that you wish had been written.
The Scar by China Mieville, I wish I'd created Bas Lag. Soooo badly...



7. One book that you wish had never been written.
Hmmm, there was a really crappy John Saul novel I never finished, it was just boring...



8. One book you're currently reading.
I'm currently re-reading The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami.



9. One book you've been meaning to read.
None really... maybe some more Jane Austin novels...

The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson, that book is freaking terrifying.
