12. In what story did you feel you did the best job of worldbuilding? Any side-notes on it you'd like to share?

Well, I don't know. I mean I think I did pretty good for every story I wrote. At least I did the best to the extaent of my abilities... There is a project I'm researching now that I think will have a fantastic world. Ambriel AKA the RFN has an intersting world. I must admit that for most things I write I don't really have everything laid out exactly. A lot grows up organically as I write and discover new problems the world needs and solutions that need to be in place. I think it's a little stiffling to try and think of EVERYTHING before you start. Some of it may not work. But I've written a lot of things that just take place here and now so there didn't need to be a lot of world building I just had to come up with a solid magic sustem or something like 'rules for vampires'. And to be honest I can build magic systems- and fairly interesting ones in my sleep.

Now, Clash of the Titans... oh Lordy... Well, first of all it had NOTHING to do with the original- or Greek mythology, aside from sharing some comon names of characters and accidentally having the name of a movie made in the early 80s. I had to keep telling myself to seperate it from the original, which was once upon a time, my favorite movie. Amd okay- I'll cop to it- It WAS because of the Pegasus, the mechanical owl, and Harry Hamlin, in that order. Hey I was a little girl! But after seeing Titans in the movie theater I decided to watch the original on Netflix and I realized something I never realized before. The original CotT had an AWESOME script! Like wow! And it was like an RPG in so many ways! A good RPG! Travel world, find magical items, collect objects needed to slay boss and final boss battle.

But New Titans had a couple nifty aspects that were totally unexpected. #1- The two professional monter hunters! OMG! LOVE them! They NEED their own movie!! #2- The djinn- WTF? They were weird and kinda cool but a little cheesy looking, but giant scorpians as transport=WIN! So does blue fire and being made of charcoal.

It's a littl frustrating because watching the original again I wish so badly that the new Titans had been a shot for shot remake of the OLD Titans because that movie and script DESERVED cool special effects! I mean no offense to Harryhausen- he is an all time classic, but if your going to make a remake why not make it good.

I think in a weird way sex had something to do with it. I noticed OLD Titans was scripted by a woman and it was a very romantic film. Perseus did it all for love. the new one is a mach testosterone sausage fest with a couple token women zero romance (despite their attempt at a subplot with Io) and they cut most of the story. Men don't care about story as long as something is being killed every five minutes right? The theme of the new movie was also revenge and the theme of the old one was love. So there you go... First movie- chick flick- complete with story, romance, and a winged horse. New movie- guy flick- vengeance death and an emphasis on giant monsters and how to kill them.
