Still pissed! (at Volks, der)
Feb. 11th, 2008 04:56 pmYou know what, I'm still pissed I didn't win Suigintou! Three entries! Three! And still nothin'! What's weird is that there is someone on DoA who really wants to buy a Suigintou and offered to trade art work for the doll. I checked out her website and she's really good! Now Suigintou is going for aroung $3000 and $3000 equals one graphic novel. Which means, if I'd won Suigintou I could have blackmailed this chick into drawing a graphic novel I wrote! And maybe gotten published (more)!!! If she wanted the doll she'd have to do it! I certainly wouldn't send the doll until receiving the last finished page. I'm not inhuman, she'd get royalties...
Am I insane? And if so how much? Is this what I'm reduced to in order to find artists? This makes me want to try for all Volks limiteds incase some other good artist wants to exchange $3000 worth of work for a doll! LOL! I doubt that will happen and most Volks LE doen't go for nearly that much.
I'm still selling Igon but no one's buying! I had a maybe buyer for the SD13 boy body who said the knees were the old kind and she didn't want it!? WTF? What kind of deal breaker are knees? Oh and then she's all "oh you can get that body for $300 off Yahoo Japan auction," well little miss know it all, I got that body off Y!J auctions and it came out to considerably more than $300! I hope my SD13 is the knew knees! And I hope she can't find any other new kneed body but mine, cause I'm not selling it to her! Actually I have no idea what the hell she's even talking about. She said something about old knees making it hard for the doll to stand? I have an older Volks doll (Alexei) and he stands really well. I don't understand her picky ass quible. I mean if Alexei were keeling over every five seconds, or was really kicky, or something I could understand wanting better knees, but he's pretty darn solid and stands better than any doll I have.
Michael's had the cutest little birdcages just perfect for doll props so I bought 2 of them. I'm going to do a photoshoot soon. I'm also re-doing Alexei's face-up so he's headless right now. I found more MSC which was a great relief. I ordered two cans of it so I have a comfortable cushion to work with now. I did some reading on DoA about TDC and everyone says NO don't use it so I'll suck it up and use MSC on Saint (who is turning out to be quite a pain in the ass).
