I watched 'Life After People' on the History Channel and I gotta say, the world is pretty awesome without people! Animals return, the oceans teem with life, it's pretty good.  It got me thinking how humanity has done nothing positive for the planet. It (I mean we) have brought nothing but death and destruction to this planet. On the show it said that roads had cut off every major North American migration. We've squeezed animals into tiny pockets habitat that shrink daily, pave under with strip malls and suburbs because our needs out weigh the needs of an entire biosphere. I doubt the currebt biosphere will survive us. At least not much. But what ever does survive humanity will outlast us. As a species we are pretty much doomed. I'm tired of commercials for recycling, as if that's going to save the planet. The problem is that it's all too late. It's probably been too late since we gave up stone age life as hunter/gatherers. Maybe we can hang on to the sinking ship for a few hundred more years as more species go extinct around us and the ecosystem turns to poisonous all around us. Then we'll go extinct, choked to death on our own effluence and whatever species have managed to survive our devastation can recover.
