che_gilsonI know I am sooo going to take shit for this BUT I decided to list some of the cartoons I really hate and why!
1. Code Lyoko-this show is just boring. I saw a marathon of it on cartoon network and in the space of about 5 episodes NOTHING happened. And I have the feeling nothing ever happens. What are they trying to accomplish? There is some villian who they are apparently trying to thwart except we never see the villian. They just mention him in passing every once in a while.
2. Da Boom Crew-This is one of those really painful shows that is trying to be hip for the sake of hipness. It's soooo unbelieveably forced. Every single character in it is a stereotype. I think writers especially of cartoons confuse archeatypes and stereotypes. All the dialogue is of course liberally peppered with hip rapper talk that will be outdated in five years if not sooner. Instead of making shows timely, all slang is date them.
3. Megas XLR-This is probably the most useless cartoon on television. It's sole function is as an in joke for male video game players. The show features a useless, token female who they tried to make interesting/tough for the first five minutes until she met the big, fat guy and crumbled before his Y chromosome. And of course the big, fat guy has an even more useless side-kick.
4. The Batman-I hate Jeff Matsuda's character designs. I hated them in Jackie Chan Adventures AND I hate them now. The story would almost be forgiveable if it were better! And Batman has another useless female. This time a wooden police detective who is really only a walking plot point. On top of that she is dressed like the chick cop from Gargoyles! I really hate the new Joker design! The Joker is my second favorite character in the whole DC universe and I like the traditional design for him.
5. Xiaolin Showdown-Even the brilliant gem that is Jack Spicer can't save this show. It's predictable in the extreme. Every single plot twist that I'm sure the writers thought were brilliant could be seen a mile away. The characters are again bland, bland stereotypes. Except Jack Spicer.
