So I posted on DoA in the thread begging Volks for another Dolpa and I'm checking back to see if others are posting as well. And yet ANOTHER person is all "I'm surprised Volks is even having Dolpas in the US considering the dolls that were stolen". Oh my fucking GAWD people. What? Volks is a two year old who after being slighted is going to take it's toys and go home? NO. They have insurance, they can sue the security company, they can right it off on their taxes- WHATEVER. They have options! People act like Volks is some tiny mom and pop operation that can't absorb the loss of a few dolls. But guess what? They can! And guess what else- they make MONEY OFF OF US. Of course they will keep having Dolpas. They will stop having Dolpas when they aren't cost effective anymore. But so far, considering they had to hold a lottery because NY Dolpa surpassed capacity- I'm guessing they are going to keep considering having US Dolpas. They may keep searching for cheaper alternatives, like more shitty online Dolpas, but it will be to increase profits, NOT because two/three years ago a few dolls were stolen.

I guess we'll see what the future holds. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I once heard that Volks had a 5 year partnership with Haute Doll to put on these Dolpas and that 5 years is up. So maybe there won't be anymore US Dolpas at all ever.
