"Theres a snake in my boot!"
Nov. 18th, 2003 07:31 pmWow, how lazy am I? I can't believe my last update was in October. Where the hell has November gone? Well at least I have been busy. I finally finished a short story and even submitted it to an online journal. I sent it to a magazine called Stillwaters Journal. I haven't heard back from them, but it may take a while. Most print magazines take several months. I also sent a story to Gothic.net. They haven't gotten back to me either. I'm just hoping that my writing can get some response. Hopefully it won't all go for naught.
I started coloring in my illustrations for White Wolf. So far so good. I'm using Painter 8 which in a lot of ways is a big improvement over Painter 7. Although adjusting brush size is inconvenient. Every time I wanted to change from brush to eraser to blender I had to go up into a menu. And only a few brush sizes are available in the menu. Painter 7 had a slider that you could slide up and down to change the brush size. That was a lot easier.
There is also an art competition that I'm entering. It's for a catalog cover. Each year they pick 12 pieces of art to be there catalog covers. I've known about the contest for years and years to but I always thought I wasn't good enough to win. This year I don't care I'm just going to try. I finished all the art for it and I'm going to assemble it in Photoshop.
My first Gothic and Lolita skirt is almost done! It's made of a lightweight black velvet trimmed with white lace. Next I'm having an organdie pettycoat made. After that a pair of white bloomers and then I will have a complete outfit! Of course now I need to start having shirts made. But I have patterns which will work out. If I could afford it there is a Gothic and Lolita clothing company in Japan which actually ships to America. Unfortunately all the skirts have a 24 in. waste. So it's a twofold problem. None of their clothes seemed to have sizes. Which is bizarre. I can't imagine that all Japanese girls have 24 in. wastes.
