Lets all save the world! LOL!
Oct. 15th, 2007 05:12 pmThat's not really going to happen. The best we can hope for is to ie before it gets TOO bad. BUT I'm game for anything!
So I thought I'd put up a few links to do good.I know I could better, I've got 3 light sockets installed with those CF bulbs and recycle and try to buy used clothes instead of new. Used anything actually instead of new... My big weakness is art supplies and books. And dolls...
ANYWAY! Here is a link to Co-Op America, they are really neat http://www.coopamerica.org/ They have great links to everything from swaetshop free clothes to green investment funds. They also publish the national Green Pages which is a phone book of green businesses.
Gaiam and more importantly Gaiam Real Goods http://www.gaiam.com/realgoods/ Gaiam Real Goods has everything from socks made of soy to a solar energy institute/charity. If you sign up for their catalogue they have a whole host of great products- even a fuel maker so you can make your own bio-deisel!! For organic home products go Giam http://www.gaiam.com/retail/gai_shophome.asp they have organic sheets, clothes, household cleaners and cool gadgets.
To help people in 3rd world countries become self sustaining and grow thier own food check out http://www.heifer.org/ Hiefer International provides families and communities with agriculture and teaches them about the environment so their farming techniques are sustainable.
