26. Let's talk art! Do you draw your characters? Do others draw them? Pick one of your OCs and post your favorite picture of him!

The answer to this is yes and no. I have a bad sketch of two characters from the RFN, Ambriel and Seiph but no, I won't post them, and I will explain why in the answer to the next meme below.

When I was writing comics I often drew the character but not for my novels.


27. Along similar lines, do appearances play a big role in your stories? Tell us about them, or if not, how you go about designing your characters.

 

I've sort of realized that every person who reads the book will make up their own idea of what the character looks like so I don't spend a lot pf time on what mine look like. I try to get in a few details but it's actually something I'm really BAD at! I also don't seem to have any sense of WHERE in the paragraph I should put the description because I feel like it slows things down. But then I read something where someone puts in one or two AWESOME lines about a character that completely solidifies them in your imagination and I'm so envious of authors who can do that.

But I don't want to do anything to ruin people's ideas of what the characters look like in their head because chance are they have come upwith something good, if not better than my own ideas. When I read a book I form my own ideas, sometimes I cast actors, sometime they are just my own ideas. Once in awhile the cover art ruins it for me.

Day 4 - Anime you’re ashamed you enjoyed.

Possibly Magical Meow Meow Taruto and or A Little Snow Fairy Sugar, both are practically little kid animes but they are both really sweet. What anime am I supposed to be ashamed of? I would be ashamed if I liked DBZ but I don't...



What I liked about Taruto was the idea that the cat's human perona's was their idea of themselves. You know how people always say "My cat/dog/bird/lizard thinks it's human"? Well I think Taruto represented that really well. And they were doll size! And there were cute live action muic videos of girls dressed as the main cats.
But when I was looking for pictures to post it turns out that the how got good reviews so it's not so shameful to like :)



This show is diabetes inducing cuteness but dammit, sometimes I just like something mellow and cute! And Sugar i kind of a bitch which made the show pretty funny.
