9. How do you get ideas for your characters? Describe the process of creating them.

I don't really know exactlySome come from concepts I have, some just hit me. Some express something in particular which I want to explore. Some arise from the plot of my ideas. Even when they are functions of the plot I to imbue them with some depth. Some sort of evolve on the fly. Many a short story and even the RFN happened like that. And frequently, I make up and name characters as they appear in the story. Again the RFN. Although Ambriel started with a name which I got from Amerca's Next Top Model (whih if you follow the show should should tell you about the time I started the effing thing. But for that I just started writing and continue making it up as I go along. (I do not recommend his).

Some of them have begun as drawings but that is pretty rare and happens more for my comics than it does for my stories. Of course I've pretty much given up on comics in favor of prose.
