"Where the hell are my bones?"
Jan. 16th, 2007 10:35 amWell Sacanime is over. It was a nice little con, although I was really hoping to make more money. I'm not even going to count this as a con report since the dollars just wasn't there.
I went up with Elise and we got there on Friday night, got lost in Sacramento and arrived at the hotel only to discover that the hotel HAD NO HEAT!!!!! We froze our asses off the whole night! I called down for extra blankets and they sent up 3 which was really nice! I was able to cocoon myself and survive.
So Saturday we go to the con and my panel is at 11:30. They actually sent an escort to come get me! Which has never happened before. Although this is only the second time I've been a guest. And my panel was....wait for it.... a dismal failure!! Only one guy showed up so I talked to him and kinda pretended I was talking to the whole empty room. And these idiot children kept coming in and hiding in the back. They were only interested in tricking there friends or some other dumbass activity. It's really rude anyway.
I bought a couple art books with what I made at the con and felt really guilty since I should have saved it all for paying off Persian and buying Segi's head. But I like art books...
So then on Sat. night we got really good sushi at a restaurant onlr 2 blocks away which was cool. We took the food back to the hotel and watched Gankutsuo The Count of Monte Christo which is an amazing anime! AND even better, we got a space heater! So we were actually warm that night.
Sunday was really slow. Not many attendees and not many shoppers. It was a little surprising since all the concerts were on Sunday and usually people show up for that.
Then on Monday we went to the fisrt ever Fresno doll meet!! YAY! There aren't many BJD owners in Fresno but it was nice to meet them anyway. We got a couple nice group shots of all the dolls and I got to see some more dolls which is always nice.
