Feb. 19th, 2005 08:12 pmOh my god! I have had the worst month ever. I can't think of one things that's gone right. I will spare everyone the details. But needless to say, life has been poopy lately.
I would like to think that things will get better but I am having trouble convincing myself.
After seeing my friend Annette's Super Dollfie at Yaoicon, my first reaction was "You must be an idiot spending $700 on a doll!" Then in December I saw a copy of Haute Doll which was ALL about Super Dollfies! Well, needless to say, I bought the stupid magazine. And now I am saving up my own $700 for a stupid, fucking doll. At least it gives me something to obsess about besides my troubles.
After bitching about so many American cartoons, I thought I would point out two that I like. The best one I think, is Dragonbooster which is on Family channel. It has a really neat mix of things, the backgrounds are very Asian in style and the names of the characters come from Arthurian legend. The dragons are really neat too. They look much more possible than the usual winged, fire-breathers of most fantasy. I also like the villians a lot.
The other cartoon which is pretty good, is W.I.T.C.H. I realize that this comes from a series of books published by Disney which was no doubt cobbled together by a marketing department, but it's better than I would have thought. It's an attempt emulate manga but it's a forgiveable one. The characters aren't too badly sterotyped and the magical other world that they travel to is pretty interesting. I'm pretty sure I know exactly where the story is headed but I'm interested enough to stick around and find out if I'm right.
I AM SOOOO MAD! I CAN'T BELIEVE UPN IS CANCELLING ENTERPRISE! THIS HAS BEEN THE BEST SEASON EVER! Goddammit! Everything good gets cancelled. Or at least everything I love gets cancelled. God forbid they cancel that snorefest called CSI!
The other fallen but not forgotten shows of this season: Dr. Vegas, Father of the Pride, and other stuff that I can't remember...
Does anyone know if True Calling is coming back? That is a super duper show too.
