LOL! It's a camera! And antique camera that probably doesn't exist anymore. I've been watching a documentary on Ovation (which I almost didn't recoerd!!!) called 'The Wonderful World of Albert Kahn" . He was a turn of the century French millionare who commissioned a massive project called the archive of the world. He sent photographers all over the world to document daily life before industrialization destroyed all these varied cultures. And he sent them with one of earliest functioning color cameras - the Lumiere Autochrome. And OMG! The photos are amazing. I want an Autochrome! The texture and the way the light looks is amazing. The picture quality is very different than what we see today and the way it treats color is very different. Something wash out to almost black and white while saturated colors pop. All I can think is how amazing it woulf be to take doll pictures with an Autochrome and get that etherial old fashioned look. I looked around online and saw some link to a tutorial about how to make a photo look like an Autochrome in Photoshop CS whatever version they are up to now. But I don't want to spend hours infront of a computer screen faking an Autochrome when I could actually be USING one. But alas... even if I could find an Autochrome I don't know how to work it, I'd have to get glass plates, and then develope the pictures. And before that find out HOW to develope the pictures. But it would just about be worth it. Sadly the documentary doesn't seem to be on DVD, I looked it up on Netflix already, and I don't have room on the DVR to keep it. But my God- the photos are amazing! There is one of a little girl in Florence sitting on a fountain that is so haunting, the quality of light looks unreal but it IS a real photo, un doctered.

15. Midway question! Tell us about a writer you admire, whether professional or not!

Well, that is a no brainer for me. China Mieville is the best of the best. I deeply envy the scope and depth of his imagination. It's one of the best I've ever seen. And he's coming back to Comicon this year!! Squee! I decided this year I'm not so sure I want to spend the hours and hours in line for and in panels I don't want to see in order to BE in the room for the panels I DO want to see, but whatever panel Mr. Awesome Mieville is one I will sit through whatever crap I have to to be in that room. Also I may be able to get my copy of The Iron Council signed thus completing my collection of signed Bas Lag hard backs. And dear GAWD I hope he writes more books about Bas Lag- I am in love with that world. I remember having a convesation with Frogwitch about where on Bas Lag we would live- Armada- and what riding in Armada we would live in- she picked the one with the libraries and I of course picke the Brucolac's riding- I mean der- I love vampires. Okay, this got off topic quick.

I also like Cate Teirnan a lot, the Sweep Series was a great series full of interesting ideas and characters I really enjoyed reading about. The sheer volume she can write is amazing too.
