*drumroll* And now the post you've all been waiting for!................................My trip to Alaska!!
Well I've been back since last Monday and just haven't had time to upload all my photos, BUT here they are! In case anyone doesn't know I went to Alaska on SenshiCon's dime and had a great time!! Now if only they'd move it to a warm month! Or at least what passes for warm in AK.

I thought I'd have mercy on the poor dial-up users out there who have had to put up with enourmous doll posts lately and put it all under a cut. This super image heavy! As in epic! If you want to see ALL my vacation photos go to my photobucket http://s173.photobucket.com/albums/w57/Chehime/Alaska/?start=0

Type your cut contents here.

Okay, I left Friday mourning because everyone was busy and working so there was no reason to go any earlier. The con was on Saturday and my plane put into Achorage at 9:30 pm so I figured I could still get a good nights sleep.

I took a 'last known photo' of my luggage just incase the airline lost it and I had to describe it. I also decorated it myself with paint pens so it would be easy to spot on the luggage carousel. Those are my feet in frame. This is Friday morning- note the magenta leapard pjs.

The Denver airport! I flew on United and this is their hub so it was to Denver I went! I wanted to make sure by camera was still working- it kinda got knocked around in my carry on. I didn't mean to use the flash and one guy was actually kinda pissed. I never left the United terminal which is VAST by the way. It also has some really nice expensive boutiques.

This is the stuffed bear in the lobby of my hotel. I took this at the end of my trip but I thought I'd put it in the beginning of the report.

The caribou head above the fireplace in the hotel lobby.

WTF????!!!! Snow!!! Holy crap I haven't seen snow in years! And you know what? I don't miss it! Everything was icy and I had a hard time walking in parking lots and such. I just wore my Sketchers which probably didn't help. This is the parking lot of my hotel, the Hilton Garden Inn.

Snow plow drifts!! I haven't seen this since Montana! OMG! Maybe I should have eaten some snow while I was there.... LOL!

Mountains!! I haven't seen those in....well.... since the last time the smog in the valley lifted! UGH! This is in Aaron's car on the way to the grocery store before we went to the con. Aaron was con relations guy and he and his fiance April picked me up at the airport the night before.

First con photo! Jack Sparrow! and a pretty good opne too!

The sparsely populated opening ceremonies. I was onstage being introduced along with Brett and their musical guest, a local girl.

More of opening ceremonies. This is also the University of Anchorage student union!!

This is the balcony from the stage. I LOVES me camera it has great zoom. I was also playing with the editing bars over people's faces LOL! Their identities are hidden to protect the guilty!

Squee! Cute cosplayers! They did really good. I actually talked to Tamari's mom and she said she'd never even heard of Naruto until she had to make a costume for it!

BEST THING EVER! This is the Kitten cosplayer! Our mascot! Her name is Cassandra and she's a friend of Brett's.

I made her do the pose.

Look close! She even had the fangs!

Brett Uher and Kitten! This is Brett who sounds in real life exactly like he does on the phone and hate having his picture taken.

Kitten being Kitten!

Me and Kitten! I din't take the photo! Blame the blurry on Brett.

Anime Deal or No Deal

Boba Fett.

Aaron is in the Imperial guard uniform and April is in the pink costume infront.

April strikes a pose!

Really good Naruto group.

KYYOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Fishy thing from something....I forgot....

Vampire Knight Cosplayers!

Kitten (Cassandra), Brett, and ME!

My table. You can't read it but the sign says "I need doll money".

Brett, still not likeing his picture taken.

More me. Sorry about that...

Square Enix is slowly taking over the earth.

You can thank me later Elise.

They had such cute costumes! I have no idea what they're from.

The next day Brett took me to some of the scenic areas of Anchorage with great veiws of the mountains. On the way I spotted a moose in a treed area infront of a hotel.

MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSE!!!

Mountains. Uh...they have names...

There was a ton of ice in the bay. It was all flowing out to sea I guess.

Anchorage, I guess it's its downtown Anchorage and the mountains in the background.

More of Anchorage. It's as cold as it looks...

Okay, the cone shaped mountain in the background is... MT. Mckinley?? Someone help me out...

More mountains, this was in another area called Turn Around or Turnabout or something or other... I should have taken notes...

More of nature's majesty.

And the majesty never ends. I could have actually climbed this rock if 1) it wasn't so freakin cold 2)I had decent shoes on 3)wasn't afraid I'd fall in the bay.

This is all the scenery I will post you're probably ready to kill me by now :D

After this I met up with Aaron amd April and we went out to really great restaurant downtown where I got a pound of the rockinest Alaskan crab legs EVER! I'm sorry I didn't get a pick of the food. It was a brewery/restaurant and the food was killer. They also took me to the Alsaka Wild Berry Products store and I bought souvenirs for a few people, Salmon Berry jam, fireweed honey, and rasberry jam, blackberry tea, arctic rose tea, and a box of chocolates with the centers infused with wacky Alaskan berry essences. I'm sorry I didn't have enough money to buy out that store!

My flight left at 11:30 pm Sunday night. It was an overnight flight and actually pretty uncomfortable. I did sleep but it wasn't good sleep. I got into Denver at almost 7 am. It sucked, alot. I ate breakfast at the Denver airport which was a sandwhich I brought from home. I bought my mom a gorgeous sterling silver dragonfly brooch/pendant with pink opal wings from a super nice boutique in the Denver airport. The whole store was very expensive too. Denver has the most expensive little art boutiques of any airport I've ever been in.

And to top it off, my checked luggage was searched on the way back.

I had a great time and I'm hoping I'll be able to go back to another con in Anchorage someday. Particularly if they move it to a warm month! I made a grand total of $230 and spent it when I got home. I bought clothes for the incoming twins and a dress from Metamorphose which was on sale.
