Tea Party a success! Getting out the door not so much...

California sucks right now. This time of year the ants come marching. I have been doing battle for nearly 2 weeks now and a lot of things have suffered while I plug holes in the walls, arond vents and putty up the nice beadboard in my room. Ants are literally coming out of walls.

So, I'm sickish right after Thanksgiving, I go to bet at 8:30 last night so I can make the doll meet. I plan to leave early. That does not happen. I spend the morning vacuuming ants and applying liberal amounts of latex wod filler. The morning passes, I eat breakfast, take a shower, and then go to get Igor's cage cleaned. Well, the ants found his food. They are all over the cage I am freaking out. Dad comes over as I am trying to get out the door. Promises to clean up while I'm gone. Finally after much creeching about how aweful they are I get to leave.

Go to doll meet. Arrive late, walk past tea house, ask for directions at antique shop, am directed back the way I came- and finally get there.

I had a really nice 2 hour break from ants- which I am now DREAMING about- foam ssealant, wood filler, and how ugly I am making my house trying to get pests under some control.

We drink tea, take pictures, talk dolls, and I order side salad dry for roughage.

There were a few curious doll admirerers as well including someone from local TV who asked if we had a club and business cards. It is ashame we have neither! There are so few local owners. As it is two of us came from well out of town.
