Just dolls

I sold Emilio, in two parts but that means I was able to make a big payment on Sard! $500+ dollars leaving only $300 left on the layaway. Don't get too happy Anneke- I'm still going to take another 3 months to pay it off.
I also have someone interested in the Yori head. Someone in Nagoya. She wanted to pay $200+ trade outfits, but honestly, the head is only $200. I said I'd be happy to take the price of the outfits off the head- so it would sell for $200 minus price of outfits + shipping and paypal fees. The shipping may come out to a lot depending. EMS will cost a bit even if it's just a head. I've never traded anything before though? How does it work?
I sold a journal on Etsy- but the buyer was in Farnce. I took the journal to the post office and they said it'd be $10.30! That's more than the journal costed! So I gave a refund and removed international shipping as an option for the journals. FYI it was the Nana journal. I've been meaning to make more but have been too depressed to do do anything lately.
Does anyone know how often Volks offers sunlight skin at the LA Sumika? I was just wondering. Did they offer it at LA Dolpa?
I'm loking forward to seeing what they offer for LA Dolpa agian. I didn't like the Jewels just because I'm not that fond of SD16s They look like giant Barbies to me, and the sculpts are... the girls are manly and not very femenine at all. The attempt to make them look mature just makes them look like drag queens. BUT that said I have certain fondness for Ruby. It's nice to see Volks take a stab at a black girl who looks like a person of African decent and not just a too tan white girl. Ideally, I'd like Volks to make and SD13 black girl with a more stylized sculpt because I think it'd be no end of cute. However, if they do another SD16 black girl for LA Dolpa this year I MAY try for her. Who knows, maybe there will be an SD17 black guy! Which would completely rock! Although I do hate the SD17 boy bodies. Well, the effort would completely rock anyway.
I was also thinking the other day about all my bitter Volks rants, and you know what? I still stand by them. All Volks BS about dolls being 'meant' for a certain owners and if you loose the lottery it wasn't meant to be- as if doll and owner were fated to be together- really pisses me off. That just makes us fight like dogs on Y!J auctions and get raped on the secondary market. It's not 'fate' or whatever pretty words they want to put on it. It's chance and the most chances seem to go to scalpers. I just find the hypocracy annoying. Admit you're out to make a buck and lets just move on. Admit you want your dolls to be rare so you can charge whatever you want for them. Just be honest. Just don't hand me shit and tell me its cake. Basically if you love Volks dolls be prepared to be screwed, repeatedly and often. I know that's not as good a marketing campaign as 'your angel will find you', but it's truer.
